Cliffside Collection brings together refined rooms and suites, lakeside dining, a mountain spa and a private gaming lounge for adult guests — a complete resort stay beneath The Remarkables.
Welcome
Set on Lake Esplanade where the town meets the water, Cliffside Collection has welcomed travellers to Queenstown since 2014. The building steps down the escarpment in four terraced levels, so almost every room looks across Lake Wakatipu towards Cecil and Walter Peak, and the top-floor suites take in The Remarkables in full.
Guests come for a resort stay: a room with a view, dinner sourced from Central Otago growers, a morning in the spa, an afternoon on the water, and — for those who want it — an evening in the gaming lounge. Our casino hotel keeps that balance deliberately. The gaming floor is one room of many, open to guests and visitors aged 20 and over, and it closes while the rest of the resort keeps going.
The team is 96 people strong, most of them local. The concierge desk knows which Milford Sound operator runs on time, which Gibbston Valley cellar door is worth the drive, and which morning the gondola is clearest. That is the part of a casino resort that guests remember.

Spa & Wellness
The spa occupies the quietest floor of the hotel, one level below the lobby, where the escarpment blocks the road noise entirely. A 17-metre lap pool runs the length of the room under a glazed north wall, with an alpine sauna, steam room and cold plunge alongside.
Four treatment rooms — two of them doubles — offer massage, facials and body treatments using products blended in Central Otago. The signature ninety-minute Escarpment Ritual combines a hot-stone massage with a manuka and kawakawa wrap.
Meetings & Events
Conferences run on the second terrace, weddings on the first. The Wakatipu Room seats 180 for a banquet or 220 theatre-style and opens onto the lake terrace; the Coronet and Cecil rooms divide for breakouts; the Remarkables Boardroom takes 14 around one table.
Every space has natural light, dedicated fibre, and a kitchen two minutes away rather than two floors. Our events team handles the run sheet, the AV and the accommodation block as one booking.
